CHAPTER PROGRAMS

Chi Epsilon Omega Chapter has served the greater East Lansing community since 2002. We are committed to being Supreme in Service to All Mankind. Our community service activities encompass both the focus areas of Alpha Kappa Alpha's international program initiatives and our local signature programs. The following are programs/initiatives that Chi Epsilon Omega Chapter holds annually:

Jazz Brunch

Jazz Brunch is an annual fundraising event. This event combines live jazz music, a delicious brunch, dancing, and various fundraising activities such as a gift card auction and a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds from the event support scholarships and community service projects in the Greater East Lansing community. Stay tuned for more information on Jazz Brunch 2025!

HST 2024

Healthy Sisters' Tea

Our Healthy Sister's Tea focuses on promoting health and wellness among women, featuring informative discussions, health screenings, and community engagement. The event is free and open to the public, providing a platform for attendees to learn about various health topics and connect with local health professionals/experts.

Scholarships

The Chi Epsilon Omega (CEO) $1,000 Community Scholarship is awarded annually to two graduating Black/African-American High School Seniors who have demonstrated exceptional academic merit, leadership and commitment to service. Scholarship recipients are expected to continue their leadership as they matriculate into a 4-year college or university.

Haven House

Haven House

Haven House has provided families in the Lansing area with temporary shelter for over 37 years. They dedicated to improving the lives of its residents through goal setting, training, and education, enabling them to be more productive and less apt to be homeless in the future. From serving meals to providing monetary and financial donations, Chi Epsilon Omega Chapter has been a longstanding partner with Haven House since our chartering.

Derby Party 2018

Diamonds and Pearls Derby Day Party

Chi Epsilon Omega Chapter in partnership with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated® Lansing Alumni Chapter hosts a day party for Derby Day. This fundraising event celebrates the Kentucky Derby with a festive atmosphere, featuring live music, dancing, and opportunities to support community initiatives.

Haven House

Pink Goes Red

In honor of Heart Hearth Awareness Month, Chi Epsilon Omega Chapter hosts our annual Pink Goes Red event on the first Friday in February. According to the CDC, heart disease is the leading cause of death for people of most racial and ethnic groups in the United States. As such, it is important that we are aware of these risk factors and take care of our heart health. This event typically features interactive activities such as hustlin', Nia, and healthy heart tips that encourages participants to engage in heart-healthy behaviors.
